I love this video. If there’s any question in the minds of Christians about whether God cares or is concerned about us individually, this carefully framed encounter between the Savior and a Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well, recorded in the New Testament, provides a great deal of comfort.
Samaritan’s were not well liked by the Jews who viewed them as practicing a corrupt form of Judaism. In fact as is pointed out in this story, the Jews pretty much avoided them altogether. Yet here Christ takes time out of his divine mission to talk personally, face-to-face with a Samaritan woman of faith about the “living water” He has to offer everyone, of course referring to eternal life.
This concern for the individual reminds me of hearing about Pres. Monson, who is no doubt an extremely busy person as the president of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, yet he still maintains a “personal ministry”, often taking time to visit people he knows are in need in the hospital or elsewhere as he feels prompted to do so.
